Sharpeev is divided into two varieties – standard and miniature:
- Shar Pei standard has a height of 46 to 56 cm for both males and females. Weight is from 20 to 30 kg.
- A miniature or mini sharpei has a height of 36 to 43 cm, and weight from 11 to 18 kg.
The size of an adult dog is determined primarily by genetics. Therefore, the size of puppies, especially at an early age, is poor an indicator of their final size. Some puppies grow earlier others, and some continue to grow longer.

Its almost maximum weight and size of sharpei reach 12 months. But many of the young dogs continue to grow somewhat longer, up to the age of 15 months. During this time they develop their muscles and reach full maturity.

Growth Factors
The greatest influence on weight and height is exerted by genetic factors, the next most important are environmental factors – puppies, who eat well with breast milk in the early days and weeks lives are likely to grow faster and become larger.
