The place of wild animals is in nature. But sometimes it happens that the life of a young wild animal is in the hands of man. So happened to a kitten manul whose mother unsuccessfully made a nest in an abandoned iron carriage. When the car was moved to another place for repair, the mother of the manulenka, frightened, fled to the forest. Kitten left alone, after two days he was sheltered by people.
The kitten got into a family with Vadim and Olga Kirilluk.

The nickname was given by the name of the mountain next to which he was born – Dasha Budlanovna.

The kitten was dehydrated, so the first time it was soldered saline from a syringe. Little by little they switched to milk.

Gradually, Dasha learned to suck herself from a baby’s nipple.

After eating, her tummy was massaged, as it does in nature cat mom.

And put to sleep in a makeshift den of cardboard boxes.

Having recovered, the kitten began to eat a special mixture and at 1.5 months got fresh meat.

Dasha quickly settled in the house. I learned to climb myself sofa. She went to sleep in the “den” for the night.

The nest of a small manul was transferred to the hall during the day, and in the evening to the bedroom.

In a month and a half, Dasha’s eye color changed from blue to yellow.

And the expression of the face has become more severe.

In June, Dasha first went to nature, at this age in the wild By nature, Pallas bring babies out of the nest.

You need to teach the mullet to live in the wild. At first she was afraid and constantly ran to the “foster parents”, but then a little I got used to it.

Dasha loved to sharpen her claws. But the manuls have big claws, sharp and even at the age of one month kittens do not know how to hide them.

When walking, the claws clatter on the floor, and if Dasha wanted on the legs to get to the “mother” – the legs were covered with scratches.

When Dasha pushed or pulled her hands with a bottle of milk – there were also scratches.

With the toilet, too, everything did not work out right away. First arranged the toilet is in the closet or in slippers.

By the age of two months I realized that you need to go to the toilet in sand tray. And after watching the cats, I began to bury everything for by myself.

In addition to Dasha, two more cats and a cat lived at home. Friendship with them first the little manul didn’t add up, cats sensed its wild smell and hissed in response.

Musya’s cat first “accepted” Dasha, and allowed her to sleep next to her In the armchair.

The manul was very capricious. Dasha took caresses only from “foster mom.”

The older Daria became, the more wild and preferred loneliness. I stopped sleeping with the “parents”, sat all the time by the window, watching life on the street.

She was quiet at night and in the morning.

I asked for food politely, sucking a small pillow of my palm. Or hearing that something is taken out of the refrigerator, she ran, got up on the back paws begging to share a piece of meat.

When she was 4 months old, Dasha already had few walks with houses.

She made a nest in a woodpile, and staying home alone complained “iav-vav-vav”.

Every day the young manul became more and more independent, increasingly could not bear the restriction of freedom and angry.

In the wild, at this age, Pallas usually leave the nest and go into an independent life.

But during the wintering, more than half of them die.

It was necessary to solve something with the future of Dasha. Do not give her to the zoo they wanted, since they originally planned to release them. Houses to hold already became dangerous too.

It was decided to take her to the cordon of the Daursky Nature Reserve – an area Where the Pallas live. The first time being free, Dasha ran away into the forest, but she was returned so that she would not get lost and get used to her new “den”.

Around the clock, a young kitty explored the area, in the evening came back for feeding.

At three months in nature, mom begins to drive babies surroundings, changing shelters. Cubs learn to lie low quietly sneak up on prey, attack and kill. These are the main skills for survival.

Dasha developed these skills by chasing cats, playing with people, sneaking up and bouncing on a rabbit.

Dasha from childhood showed an animal temper, growled at strangers, if “parent” intervened – he also got it.

After five days of life on the cordon, Dasha managed to catch a small piku.

To do this, she had to sit in the hole in an ambush.

The understanding came that only by jumping and chasing food is not to get, you need restraint and waiting.

On the same day, she managed to catch an adult pika, albeit not without the help of the person who released the victim at the right time from ajar trap.

In a week, the kitty mastered the territory of the cordon, found good Shelters, received the first hunting experience.

Dasha’s gaze became even more mature and stern.

A cat Timka was brought to the cordon. Dasha, yielding to the cat in agility and jumping, took her patience and perseverance. Feeling on Cordon mistress, eagerly buried Timkina toilets.

Dasha persistently, but without aggression, “crowded out” Timka with her territory. The cat answered with a rumbling and slap in the face.

Feline relatives never accepted the mullet into their family.

Dasha did not dare to go out of the fence, still feeling attachment to the “family” also remained curious and playful.

Time passed, and Daria seemed afraid to leave her nest, although already in nature, cats of her age lived an independent life.

By September, Dasha gained 2 kilograms.

Increasingly, Pallas looked at the mountains, and once left …

She chose life in freedom.

The story of the puss continues today. Vadim on his page on Facebook describes in detail what is happening with Dasha.
