The disappearing species of frogs barely managed to save

In Chile, the endangered frogs of Loa were saved. 14 last individuals caught and sent to the zoo.

Amphibians had to be relocated due to the threat of complete disappearances. Their place of residence, the city of Kalama, is famous for its harsh – dry and cold climate. Lately due to drought the river Loa, where frogs inhabited, became shallow. It has contributed threatening reduction in the number of rare species.

Caught animals were sent to the zoo of the capital of Chile, Santiago. There they will undergo rehabilitation, and then biologists will engage in breeding frogs to restore the population and return the species to natural habitat.
